Quote enquiry

Request a quote

A short request first. Sizes, drawings, the address and a visit can follow when you are ready. No charge, and no visit unless you ask for one.

What a Sharp quote contains

A price for every opening, not one figure for the job. Each line names the system, the frame sightline, the glass make-up, the finish, the hardware and the Uw. Lead time is stated per line. Survey to installation is six to eight weeks. The guarantee is ten years. If we cannot hit a size, a U-value or a date, the quote says so rather than leaving it to the survey.

What to have ready5

None of this is required. All of it shortens the quote by a day or two.

  • A photograph of each opening

Taken square on from inside, with a tape or a metre rule held across the reveal.

  • Rough sizes in millimetres

Width first, then height, measured across the structural opening rather than the old frame.

  • Drawings, if you have them

PDF elevations and plans, or DWG. A window schedule is better still.

  • Your performance requirement

A planning condition, a Building Control target, an acoustic figure, or a security standard such as PAS 24.

  • A date that matters

Completion, a tenant moving in, a scaffold coming down. Say which is fixed.

What happens after you submit

A person at Sharp reads your enquiry and replies from info@sharpglazing.co.uk, by email or phone as you asked. If a price is the next step, they ask for what a quotation needs: sizes, photographs or drawings, and the address. Nobody visits your house unless you ask for a visit. If you go quiet, we follow up once and then stop.

Questions about quoting7
Is the quote free?
Yes. The quote, the site survey and the drawings that go with it are free and carry no obligation.
Can you price from my architect's drawings?
Yes. Send elevations and a window schedule as PDF or DWG and we price from them. A survey follows once you accept, and the survey sizes govern manufacture.
How accurate is the first figure?
If you give sizes and a specification, the quote is the price. If you give photographs and estimates, treat it as within about ten per cent until we survey.
Do you price single windows?
Yes, though a single unit carries the same survey and installation visit as several, so the cost per opening is higher.
Can I get sections, U-values and DWG files with the quote?
Ask in your enquiry, or in the project details you can add after sending it. The technical desk sends system sections, Uw calculations, PAS 24 certification and DWG files with the price.
What if I only want supply, not installation?
We supply-only to trade accounts. Retail orders are surveyed, made and fitted by one team, because the guarantee covers the whole of it.
What do you do with my data?
The details you send help us understand your project and respond to your enquiry. For questions about your information, email info@sharpglazing.co.uk.
